Thailand
Finally! I originally booked this trip back in 2019 one week after returning from Japan. I was suppose to go in September of 2020 but obviously that did not happen. I moved this trip back so many times because of Covid but I finally got to go and it was so worth the wait! I loved Thailand and it's 100% a return country for me. We visited three cities, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket. I did not get enough time in the capital city of Bangkok so I definitely need to return to really explore the number one most visited city in the world. Chiang Mai was really cool but it was my least favorite of the three. Phuket was gorgeous and definitely lived up the hype. Since this was a beach city and we did mostly boat tours and water activities, I do not have any photos on my camera; huge regret but I know I will be returning. My favorite part of the trip was the boat excursion around the islands in Phuket. The views are simply stunning and photos don't do it justice. I loved kayaking around the rock formations in the water, through caves and swimming in the beautiful blue water. We also got to see the bioluminescence in the water at night. Another bucket list item checked off. Other highlights were the rooftop bar in Bangkok, eating the street food, exploring the famous Phi Phi Islands, seeing an elephant sanctuary and talking with a buddhist monk. I took nine flights in 11 days so this was a very fast paced trip which is why I need to return someday.
